Strawbebbie "wine" started 🍓
I really really thought I had another unopened bag of sugar, but it wasn't there when I went to grab it, so I ended up using honey to push it to the 1.1 SG I wanted. So I think it might just be the teeny tiniest bit over 50% fermentables coming from honey, which technically makes it a melomel not a wine, but w/e it should be tasty regardless, and assuming it goes completely dry should end up in the ~13.5-14% abv range
#homebrewing#so i just did the math and its abt 49.6% fermentables from honey so still technically wine unless the strawbbys are weirdly low in sugar#also wow my handwriting is so bad lol#.txt#.png

Question about Frank! What is his fighting style? I know you mentioned he does hand on hand, but does he do any specific form of martial arts?? Or is it just kind of the basic, punching, kicking, ect. Also, does he have some form of magic, or is he basically like Howdy? (I'm just imagining they all play like.. actual table top DnD and Frank is getting irritated because his rolls are garbage-)
i'm not nearly well versed enough in martial arts to name styles or blend them - though i feel a "i need to know everything i can about this" fixation creeping up... so i might be able to provide a better answer later!
but for now lets just say he's adapted his own stylized form, blended from his childhood training, what he learns on the streets, and what he picks up on his travels / figures out himself. i imagine it would be an efficient, ruthless, and elegant personal style of combat
Frank has no magic! if he rolled for it he'd somehow get a 0! he and Howdy are the only magicless maidens of the group
#& man. i really want to make it a dnd au#but i simply dont know enough about dnd to be able to Accurately do that!#and also: i dont like restrictions and rules#but it's so funny to imagine the neighborhood gathered in front of home with sally dm-ing#or home is the dm. how would that work#wally helps i suppose... resets the dice so home can roll it with their front door#but unfortunately my knowledge and understanding is Limited#it would be in the style of the dnd movie - where its seamless & theyre not actually rolling or anything#but i dont know the spells! i dont know the lore! the monsters!#ok unless i do Another sit-down-and-crunch-learn-everything-dnd#....thats doable. if i just learn the creatures the monsters the lore#then homebrew the world and fuck with stuff to make it have wh vibes....#it could be Loosely dnd. loosely tabletop.#then i could tag it with 'wh tabletop au' instead of fantasy au to differentiate it...#no no that still doesnt work. cause if it has secondary lore of 'its literally the neighborhood playing their own version of dnd'#i cant see any of the wally-centered drama happening. theyd all be like 'aw its ok that youre a warlock wally <3' & move on#but i still want to name it something Different! just to keep it separated! rpg? no... its still not a game... and its not dnd enough...#questing au? 'cause they're always on quests? mythical au? adventuring au?#place your votes now folks! the ballots are rolling in!

I think your RPG takes are really good :) I enjoy D&D 5e to some extent (like, it's fine), but I feel D&D's market dominance isn't great. But what gets me the most is how incurious many people who play D&D 5e to the exclusion of other games are. No interest in seeing anything that deviates from how D&D does things.
Yeah! This is a point I've tried to make clear too, like... ultimately if someone WANTS to stick to 5e that's not my problem. If they want to use heavily homebrewed 5e for a Doctor Who or Cyberpunk or Homestuck campaign or whatever and their table has fun with it like. Okay, I personally wouldn't do that but I also have no right to tell anyone to NOT do that.
But the moment they get so entrenched in that idea of "You can use 5e to do ANYTHING" that they start acting like someone else wanting to use anything other than heavily homebrewed 5e for anything is some ridiculous or preposterous idea that's when I have a problem with them. Especially when the people who think like that are a statistically significant enough portion of the tabletop public to affect business decisions in the hobby.
Like. One of the saddest cases I've seen in recent memory, the upcoming Adventure Time ttrpg from Cryptozoic was initially pitched as having its own system, only to later end up being switched to 5e. And considering that the initial Dicebreaker article that came out months before this announcement featured quotes from one of the developers about why they decided to use their own system and why they thought D&D wouldn't work well with the narrative flow they wanted for the game, and also that the reason given for the switch to 5e was "feedback from fans", it's clear that this is not a decision they made because they WANTED to make a 5e hack, but because they NEEDED to make it a 5e hack in order for it to be profitable because there's just such a huge portion of the tabletop public that got pulled into the hobby with 5e and is so fundamentally incurious that they won't touch a book with a 10-foot pole unless it some form of "5e compatible" logo on the cover.

D&D 5e Homebrew Lineage: Core-Born Phyrexian
This lineage is part of my in-progress homebrew supplement Plane Shift: Mirrodin/New Phyrexia for D&D 5e.
The core-born Phyrexian is the build-it-yourself choice out of the supplement's options, similarly to its fellow MtG crossover, the Simic hybrid. Included with this version are a short list of sample modifications, which will be expanded as time and playtesting go on. Many are duplicates of existing racials in 5e, but others will be original, such as PS:MNP's weirdest modification so far: Metamorph. Something to look forward to!
Though the stat block here states a set ASI (+2 Con/+1 any), I'm actually a strong proponent of rearranging ability scores as in Tasha's, and the pre-set ASI is really more flavor text than anything.
The text here alludes to the phyresis mechanic, which will be posted in the future. In short, taking necrotic damage from Phyrexians will cause a Con save with DC equal to the damage taken, and on a failed save, you will gain one phyresis level. Phyresis advances in ten stages, with compleation being the end result. The minimum DC of this save is 5. Uniquely, a natural 1 always fails, and a natural 20 always succeeds.
Text from the images under the cut. (It's quite a lot.)
Core-Born Phyrexian
Though Phyrexians’ most well-known method of reproduction is through the compleation of other creatures, fully Phyrexian offspring can also be grown in glistening oil, tended by vat-priests. Germs are most often born from the oil of a single Phyrexian parent and take after that parent’s morphological features, including the type and color of their metal plates. Such Phyrexians are known as “core-born”, even though the laboratories that create them have expanded all over the surface and interior of Mirrodin.
Type. You are a Humanoid. You are also considered a Phyrexian for any prerequisite or effect that requires you to be a Phyrexian.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2, and one other ability score of your choice increases by 1.
Age. Owing to your combined construction of flesh and metal, the Phyrexian definition of life is porous at best. Phyrexian beings have the potential to live indefinitely. You are immune to magical aging effects.
Size. As a player character, your size can be either Small or Medium. Either way, Phyrexians tend to be heavier than organic creatures of equivalent size.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. Your constructed senses grant you superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Necrotic Resistance. The glistening oil flowing through your body protects you from the tainted attacks of your kind. You have resistance to necrotic damage.
Tainted Strike. Your claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal 1d4 + your Strength modifier of slashing damage, plus 1 additional necrotic damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
Phyrexian Modification. You begin with one modification (presented later in this document) as a result of the Phyrexian work done on your body, and you gain an additional one at 5th level.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Phyrexian and one other language of your choice.
Phyrexian Modifications
These modifications are presented in alphabetical order along with their prerequisites and associated factions. They are intended for use both as-is and as inspiration for individually customized features. Modifications are gained at 1st and 5th level by the core-born race, but are also obtainable by any character who has Phyrexian work done on their body or gains 8 or more levels of phyresis.
Unless stated otherwise in its description, each modification can only be taken once and has no prerequisites.
At the DM’s discretion, a character may exchange one of their modifications for another by undergoing a surgical procedure. A character must still meet any prerequisites for a new modification they take this way.
Constructed Resilience Faction: Any Prerequisite: does not already have the Constructed Resilience feature
Even among Phyrexians, you are unusually mechanized, forfeiting the majority of your organic components for the resilience of a true machine. You have resistance to poison damage and immunity to disease, and you have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned. You don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe. You also don’t need to sleep, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
To gain the benefits of a long rest, you must spend all 8 hours staying still or doing light activity, such as keeping watch.
Extra Arms Faction: Any Prerequisite: does not already have the Extra Arms feature
You gain an extra pair of arms that function normally, with the following exceptions:
You can use a secondary arm to wield a weapon that has the light property, but you can’t use a secondary arm to wield other kinds of weapons.
You can’t wield a shield with a secondary arm.
Incendiary Breath Faction: Quiet Furnace
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an exhalation of fire in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, the creature takes 1d10 fire damage. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage. This damage increases by 1d10 when you reach 5th level (2d10), 11th level (3d10), and 17th level (4d10).
You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Necrogen Vents Faction: Steel Thanes Prerequisite: 5th level
As an action, you can release a poisonous aura of necrogen in a 10-foot-radius sphere centered on yourself. It lasts for 1 minute, moves with you, and ends early if you are incapacitated or die. Each other creature of your choice that starts its turn in the necrogen or enters it for the first time on its turn must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or be poisoned until the beginning of its next turn. Creatures that don’t need to breathe automatically succeed on this saving throw.
Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Reactive Spines Faction: Any
As a reaction when a creature you can see within 5 feet of you hits you with a melee attack, you can make metallic spines erupt from your body in retaliation, causing the attacker to take 1d6 piercing damage. This damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6).
You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Reinforced Carapace Faction: Any Prerequisite: does not already have a racial bonus to AC, such as Iron Skin or Natural Armor
The metal of your body grows tougher, deflecting mortal blows. You gain a +1 bonus to your AC when you aren’t wearing heavy armor.
Resistance Faction: Any
You gain resistance to one of the following damage types of your choice: acid, fire, poison, psychic, or radiant.
Though any Phyrexian may receive this modification, each damage resistance is most commonly associated with a specific faction (see “Phyrexian Factions” earlier in this document).
Spider Climb Faction: Any Prerequisite: does not already have the Spider Climb feature
You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed, and you can climb walls and other difficult surfaces without needing to make an ability check. In addition, at 3rd level, you can move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, while leaving your hands free.

did you have any more thoughts about the "going down equals a level of exhaustion" house rule for 5e? a group I'm involved in is considering adding it, and though I've strenuously argued against it, the retort seems to be that a good healer would be spending those spells anyway, so the healbot concern is irrelevant. As the person playing the healer in the group I'd be leaving if they choose to implement it, but I'd like to give it one more good argument before I pull that card.
So my arguments here are somewhat subjective and I think gain efficacy if you are willing to gently but firmly say "I would leave this group over this choice," at this time.
My first one is a pretty basic one. For all the complaints people have about it, I actually find D&D 5e is pretty balanced, rules as written. Sure, there are rules I ignore, but most of those are like...very finicky little things (eg: small creatures not being able to use heavy weapons; it's not like halflings have such great racial abilities that you must nerf them by not letting them use a warhammer) and not core elements of gameplay. It was pretty thoroughly playtested as is. I think DMs who try to play with this kind of thing tend to be either be people who are struggling with a way to make encounters more dangerous but haven't used the (RAW) tools at their disposal; or are the sort of people I've described before who are incapable of enjoying something unless they can figuratively pee on it to mark their territory. The former is fixable; the latter type can change but it tends to have to come from within. Though I will say: Rusty Quill Gaming's Unconscious Rule was that you get a scar (no mechanical penalties unless you want) whenever you're knocked unconscious. It was purely a story thing, but if your DM is just itching to homebrew something in order to carve their initials onto the tree of D&D instead of leaving well enough alone, that might be a way to let them feel like they've homebrewed something relating to unconsciousness.
The second one is that there's multiple approaches to healing! I do tend to be a fairly proactive healer when I play one, but letting people go down is a valid strategy. Plus, shit happens! People roll really badly or the DM rolls really well or you roll all 1s on your healing dice and bam, they're unexpectedly out. It puts an undue burden on the healer not just in terms of pushing them towards a very specific playstyle, but at high levels pushes them to burn extra 5th levels (and diamond dust) on Greater Restoration). It also simultaneously makes it perhaps advantageous to not heal someone who's gone down. If they go unconscious and you're not able to heal them up beyond what they're likely to lose in another round, maybe it's better to leave them making death saves (or do Spare the Dying) so that they don't have two levels of exhaustion...but then they might die. It's a really screwy thing because the game isn't fucking balanced for this because it's stupid. It also can push the party into the One Combat Per Day behavior that has been rightfully criticized.
And finally, tying back to both of the above, there's a reason why going unconscious doesn't kill people in D&D and that's because it makes for a good story! It adds drama and tension, but you don't lose the character. This both penalizes you for allowing that drama to happen and ratchets the tension to a level that isn't really fun.
Another thing I'd add is to ask why specifically they want to add it because if someone says "it's more realistic," for example, you have my permission to say "in the pretend to be an elf wizard game?" and make a jerk-off motion. You may want to tone that down if you wish to part on good terms but like, for real, if they want a more realistic game, perhaps they should find one. I'm not a Pathfinder person myself but I would never begrudge other people from playing it in their own homes and I think PF1e (or an older version of D&D) and its less generous overnight healing might be worth your while. Perhaps exploring another system would be the better option. I think people who wander around the internet whining about how other people play D&D are sad losers, but they do have a point that if you're tinkering with core rules (as opposed to like, homebrewing a race, class/subclass, item, spell, feat, or monster) that's a sign you should probably look for another game.
So with all that said: I think it's fair to point out a (more tactful) version of all of the above but also say "I feel, as the healer, this would make my role a lot less fun, and I would leave this group over this choice." If you say it politely and calmly it may make your DM realize how much you dislike it. That doesn't mean they won't barrel ahead anyway, because people have free will and whatnot, but in a social situation, sometimes logical arguments aren't helpful! Sometimes it's better to just say "I've said why I don't like this, and I hope we can find a compromise, but ultimately you can do what you want; I can also do what I want, and I don't want to be here if you disregard my input on something that affects my enjoyment."

TW // Curse.
Going to the store was physically hard to go to without Hydra following me. His purrs, and coos trying to beg me to stay with him on the bed a little moment longer. His lips tickling my neck while I playfully swatted at him.
“I'll come back soon, and I’ll make your favorite!” I bargained with the touched staved Astartes, shimming out of his embrace.
A whine left him, but he didn’t pursue. Instead, he plopped back in the bed like a starfish with his legs hanging off the bed. A big sigh coming out of him.
“Oh you’ll live.” I laughed, getting my shoes on, using the archway for support. Oblivious to the moving Astartes.
I would have spent more time in bed with the cuddly Alpha Legion since he came back from one of his weekly trips, but basic living calls and now, I got a Hydra to feed.
Where did I put my jacket?
“Hydra!” I yelped, jumping in his hold as he lifted me up, his teeth nipping at my neck while he rumbled with laughter. “Put me down!”
A huff escaped me while I got out of my car. Wondering when the person that I’ve hired would come out and stock my home pantry. They should have been here a week ago.
It wasn’t like I couldn’t do my own shopping, but my secondary income came from my streaming. So sometimes, I just don’t have the time to do any heavy weighted shopping.
Walking through the sliding doors of the grocery store. I was greeted by the manager today. His head simply nodded at me in a greeting while he checked out another person’s groceries.
Giving a nod in return, I grabbed a basket, and made my way around the store. Grabbing things that could last me for about a week with Hydra included.
Grabbing a jar of spaghetti sauce, and heading over to the meat aisle. I remembered meeting Hydra here when he was trying to eat the raw meat here, looking like a mucky lost soul.
I hummed, the memory brought a smile to my lips as that event only happened only a year and a half ago. My dude almost ate a roll of raw meat.
Shaking my head, I put the roll of meat into my basket, and headed for the bakery. Picking up a baguette to make some garlic bread with the spaghetti before heading over to the cashier.
“How we doin’ today?” The manager asked, scanning the items I took out of my basket.
“Just getting stuff for week.” I responded, fiddling with my wallet to get my card out of it’s pocket.
“That so?” He questioned, stashing my items into a plastic bag.
“Uh yeah, I thought you only supervised?” I questioned him back.
“Eh, ‘rom time to time.” He said. “$52.67, please.”
Using my card on the reader. I typed in my PIN, and waited for it to beep before taking it out. Rushing over to get my bags.
“Be careful out there al’right?” He warned, already scanning another person’s grocery’s.
“Will do Mr. Terrel!” I shouted at him before I left the store, the doors sliding closed behind me.
Rain hit my face while I made my way over to my car, my hands struggling to find the car keys in my pocket.
Getting my grip on them, I pushed the button, and unlocked the car. Hurriedly stashing the groceries in the front passenger seat.
Shutting the door, I caught a glimpse of bright blue glowing in an alleyway. Doubling back, the blue glow was still there, staring.
The hairs and the back of my neck suddenly stood up as me, and this glowing visor had a stare down.
They didn’t seem to be threatening, but only one with a horrible sense of survival skills would even dare to approach such towering visor.
They took a step out. Silver, and gold drawing the elements of their armor. The rain washing away at them.
Oh, sh*t.
—
Oh she smelled so sweet, so savory, but she smelled like another.
Another who scent is all over her. Another that claimed her before I did. Another that I do not see. Another who is not providing truly.
Another whose death would not go unnoticed.

looking for players for a DND 5e campaign! (FULL UP! THANKS :) )
set in my homebrew world of Deorum, players will be able to explore and uncover the secret of this ancient land, be it by serious hard work or shenanigans!
both new and experienced players are welcome!
About the campaign:
starting with level 1 characters
any race or class (as long as homebrew is run by me)!
the world is classic dnd fantasy! mostly magic, a burgeoning world of science!
this is a world of ancient secrets and separated societies (political storms are always brewing!)
i love a serious, sad or dramatic moment, so be prepared for those, but for the most part, goofs and shenanigans are most welcome, and in fact wanted!
how we start the campaign will depend on the characters, but likely will start at a festival, one which peoples from around the continent come around for!
any and all character archetypes are wonderful and allowed, however, no matter your character, you have to be ready and willing to work WITH your fellow players (just because you're a loner or kind of evil, doesn't mean you can't be a team player! get out there and made some friends, possible edgelords!)
pirates? hell yeah! witches? absolutely! a fantasy old-timey version of a modern day group or job? thats funny as hell! literally go wild, excited to see what characters you come up with! i'll give a lowdown on the history and civilizations at session zero, where characters will be made/hammered down :)
About me and my table:
i'm queer! my pronouns are they/she :)
i'm in the EST timezone!
i want to play at least once a month, I'd prefer weekly or every other week (and likely on weekend evenings), but people get busy, so its not a strict schedule.
I'll be creating a discord for this, and will likely be using Roll20 for fights (unless i find a better site!)
i tend to be pretty "rule of cool" loving, so while rules still apply, never be afraid to ask to do some crazy shit! (i absolutely love that stuff!)
no hatred or bigotry at my table y'all, obviously. no racism, no homophobia, no transphobia, no ableism, no religious hatred, etc, etc!
anything that could possibly be triggering (i.e. body horror, sexual things, etc.) will be discussed in session 0, i want everyone to be comfortable and having fun at the table!
If any more details are wanted, or if you want to join, feel free to ask here or in my dms!

I feel like a kid on Christmas. I'm finally making some real use of my 3DS being homebrewed. I figured out how to install my 3DS cartridges onto the console so I don't need the carts to play. I also figured out NDS game forwarding, so I can have icons for those too. What you're looking at is every mainline Zelda game that the 3DS can run. Every one from Zelda 1 to Four Swords, and the handhelds from there onward. It's only the Wii U and Switch ones that I can't play here on my little ol' gold Zelda New 3DS XL. This is so epic. Mind you I've owned all of these since 2015. It's just having them all here without needing the carts that makes me so excited.
I've also packed Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D full of mods for quality of life and to make them just a bit more faithful to the N64 releases. Read below for the mods I've installed! They all work on 3DS, not just Citra!
Nerrel on YouTube has an excellent review of MM3D that points out its severe shortcomings as a faithful remaster of the original. Thankfully, there are multiple mods that fix both gameplay and aesthetic problems.
Project Restoration by Leoetlino, which fixes every gameplay issue and adds even more quality of life features.
N64 OST to 3DS by DeathWrench. Gets rid of the reverb that Grezzo slathered on the soundtrack.
Classic Texture Packs by Solt 11, based on Citra-only mods by Loch Ness Hamster. They make Link's transformations look much more faithful. (I deleted the file for Hylian Link though because I like Grezzo's take on him)
Even if you don't care for the texture packs, Project Restoration easily makes MM3D the best way to experience Majora's Mask, whether on Citra or original hardware.
OoT3D is a much more faithful remaster, with virtually no changes to the gameplay while only enhancing visuals and adding optional QoL features like motion aiming. There are still some areas where it fell short, like how some of the game's horror elements were sanitized. So I threw on a bunch of mods for that too. Most of them are just aesthetic, but two are really game changing. First, the aesthetic.
Invisible Sheikah Stone by Takeshre. They're still there if you need them but don't visually distract anymore. There is a MM3D version, but Citra only.
Art-Faithful Fairies by Takeshre (3DS port by JoesephMother in comments). This one is just neat. Pointy wings!
N64 Dialogue Font by Takeshre. The original font has so much character compared to what Grezzo replaced it with, and now it's back!
Original Dead Hand by Loch Ness Hamster (3DS port by JoesephMother in comments). Finally some of the horror back.
Now the gamechangers.
Standalone Free Cam by Roberto-Nessy. Goodness this breathes some fresh life into the game. As far as Nintendo is concerned, OoT is still the only 3D Zelda to not have free cam. The original 3DS couldn't support one, but the New 3DS and Citra certainly can. Boom bam, free cam!
Unmirror Master Quest by HylianFreddy. Okay so maybe this is just huge and gamechanging to me, but listen. I'm left-handed. I identify so very strongly with Link's character, and it makes me very happy whenever he is left-handed. That said, I dislike that OoT3D and TPHD mirror the game world in their respective hard modes simply because they make Link right-handed. This mod completely fixes the issue for me in OoT3D at least. I actually want to play Master Mode now.
Note that these two are both implemented using a file called "code.ips", so they cannot be used together unless they are merged into one ips file. Which you can do easily with the tool in method 2 of this guide.
So yeah I'm a happy camper. If you use any of the guides or mods I shared and found them cool or helpful, you're welcome! I found them all either by searching for them specifically or combing through the games' pages on Gamebanana.com. Enjoy!

Homebrew Horror: Steraba
(Art source: Thistledown Players, from the MTG set Bloomburrow)
The tiny mouse-like Fey first mentioned here are known as Steraba, a type of House Spirit that forms a bond with a family of mice living among humanity.
The lore block in the linked post is more or less everything I've got on them, so I won't repeat myself here, but there are a few exceptions: namely, that they're most dangerous with their tiny bows, crafted from common household objects. They use slivers of barbed metal or splintering wood for their arrows which, despite their appearance, fire with high accuracy and leave painful and discouraging wounds. Painful, but not lethal, as Steraba will never kill anything but rats (whom they can always deal lethal damage to via Ratbane).
Also, figuring out how their Mouse Meal worked was a mechanical nightmare in my original draft and I'll spare you from looking at it. I eventually settled on a much simpler option.
House Spirit, Steraba CR 2 Neutral Good Diminutive Fey Init: +3; Senses: low-light vision, scent; Perception +9 ------ Defense ------ AC 17, touch 17, flat-footed 14 (+3 Dex, +4 size) HP 20 (4d6+4) Fort +2 Ref +7 Will +6 (+4 versus disease) DR 3/Cold Iron; SR 11 ------ Offense ------ Speed 20ft, burrow 5ft, climb 10ft, swim 5ft Melee Needle rapier +5 (1 nonlethal), bite +5 (1 nonlethal) Ranged Shortbow +5 (1d2 nonlethal) Special Attacks Ratbane Spell-like Abilities (CL 4th; Concentration +5) At-will--Mage Hand, Prestidigitation 1/day--Mouse Meal (see below) ------ Statistics ------ Str 2 Dex 16 Con 12 Int 10 Wis 15 Cha 13 Base Atk: +2; CMB -6; CMD 7 Feats Go Unnoticed, Weapon Finesse Skills Acrobatics +10, Climb +9, Craft (any one) +5, Escape Artist +8, Knowledge (Local) +5, Knowledge (Nature) +5, Perception +9, Sleight of Hand +7, Stealth +22, Swim +8 Languages Common, Sylvan SQ Compression, Fey Gift, Mouse Empathy (+5) ------ Ecology ------ Environment Any land Organization Solitary, pair, or family (1~3 plus 5~20 mice) Treasure Incidental ------ Combat: Steraba are not combatants. They will flee any combat they accidentally enter, using their stealth to do so if they can. The sole exception is against rats, whom they will bravely stand and fight against, and when facing people who continuously harm or kill mice, whom they will pester from afar with tiny arrows, using their climb speed to find advantageous positions.
Morale: Steraba flee if they're brought below 10hp. If their family is in danger, the oldest Steraba will stand and fight defensively until the family is safe before fleeing themselves, but will give their life if they must. ------ Special Abilities ------
Fey Gift (Ex): Once per year, a Steraba can craft a good-luck charm out of random bits and bobs and gift it to another creature. This charm acts as a Stone of Good Luck, but it can be just about anything; usually a badge or a pin. This charm retains its supernatural power until the Steraba which crafted it dies or creates another charm, or until the wearer knowingly and willingly commits an evil act. The good luck charm works only for the creature it was initially gifted to.
Mouse Empathy (Ex): This ability acts as the Wild Empathy ability of a Ranger, except it only affects mice. Steraba gain a racial bonus to this check equal to their Hit Dice (typically +4). Mice and giant mice never attack a Steraba unless magically compelled to do so.
Mouse Meal (Sp): Mouse Meal acts as the spell Create Food and Water, except it requires specific material components: At least one seed, grain, or nut. Each component provided, up to the limit of the spell (up to 16), is magically transmuted into a loaf of bread or a bowl of porridge that sustains a single Medium creature for a day, along with a small amount of honey, sugar, or jam (any flavor). Any food created by this ability turns to bitter crumbs after 24 hours, and conjured water evaporates.
Ratbane (Ex): Steraba have the Favored Enemy +2 ability of a Ranger, but it only applies to rats and dire rats, as well as creatures which are rat-like, such as Ratlings and were-rats (though most Were-rats are far beyond their ability to harm).

The Greatwyrm Patron | The Warlock Patron so obviously missing this is the 7 billionth take this afternoon
PDFs of this and more can be found over on at my Patreon here! I release everything for free, so your support makes this possible
As a gift to everyone, I give the clearly absent warlock patron from the PHB. The familiars go
Archfey: pixie
Fiend: Quasit, and Imp (though, really just imp, since the fiend patron is clearly infernal in nature)
Great Old One: ???
???: Pseudodragon
Maybe I should make a goo familiar one of these days. Hmm… Admittedly, a dragon is not an otherworldly entity, but it's power kind of is, and that's what make them so dangerous, besides, the undying/undead isn't necessarily otherworldly either
Awesome Presence
What would a warlock want from their patron? I presumed their terrifying power, which is most mechanically expressed through its frightful presence. This is rather similar to the archfey's beguiling presence feature, and indeed a stronger version of it. To which I agree. But I also think that charming or fearing someone for a round once per rest isn't very appealing even at 1st level.
Treasure Sense
Not a very strong power, but definitely one I feel like you would get from a dragon.
Elemental Potency
This one's possibly a little bit strong, but magical great weapon fighter seemed fun, and I didn't really feel like stepping on the elemental adept feat's toes, especially since it very much would compliment this subclass
Dragonwrought Protection
Once again, I feel like an immensely old dragon of otherworldly might would probably have more affinity to their element than merely being immune to it, and this seems like an interesting gift for their warlocks that get this far.
Dracomorphosis
You came asking for draconic power, what more would you want than to become an actual dragon. Yes, I would probably give a revised dragon sorcerer something similar
Dragon Shape
I was never a fan of the draconic transformation spell. Sure, it makes you dragony-er, but for a spell that says it will transform you into a dragon, it doesn't really do that. So instead, a spell that polymorphs you into a young dragon. Why young? To both limit the power level, but also because most PCs aren't old enough to be adult dragons. I also specifically wanted it to be a 5th level spell, so I could give it to dragon themed subclasses. Why only druid? Because turning into the most powerful natural predator seems like a very druidy thing to do. I could make an arguement for wizards, but unless you were a dragon sorcerer, your magic wouldn't really encourage you to become one.
And now to plug my stuff. I release homebrews weekly over on my Patreon. Anyone who pledges $1 or more per post don't have to wait a month to see them, and also help fund my being alive habit.
At the moment, they have exclusive access to the following:
Breaking and Exiting
Dungeon Delver's Survival Guide
Oath of Integrity
Path of Iron
I also have three classes, and a splatbook over on DriveThrueRPG to check out:
The Rift Binder. A class specialising in summoning monsters and controlling the battlefield.
The Witch Knight. A class that combines swords and sorcery in the most literal way.
The Werebeast. A class that turns you into a half beast to destroy your foes.
d'Artagnan's Adventurer Almanac. A compendium of races, subclasses, feats, spells, monsters and more!

Anywhere Bow
Magic Artifact Weapon for Dungeons & Dragons 5e
We here at Cloaks & Capes are BIG fans of the @wildermyth-blog game, and following its recent DLC Omenroad, and the official wrapping of the game, we wanted to give it homage.
So we took Elthiar's Bow, the Anywhere Bow, and made it into a Vestige of Divergence for 5th edition. We hope you like it, it took some work to make all the mechanics and rules feel good, and fit them on the card!
If you use this in your campaign, we would love to hear how it went! Also, go buy Wildermyth on Steam. :)
Anywhere Bow
Weapon (any bow or crossbow), artifact (requires attunement)
“This mythical weapon has a history shrouded in mystery. Even the most learned wizards are baffled by the magic it holds and its ability to fuse the consciousness of the wielder to ordinary items. The structure of the weapon seems naturally occuring and not something made by the hands of mortals.”
Interfusion. Using a bonus action, you can use the magic of this artifact to interfuse with an object that you can see within 30 feet (trees, rocks, furniture, etc.) In order to interfuse with something it must be considered a small, medium, or large object, that isn’t being worn or carried. If an object is destroyed or picked up, the interfusion ends. Interfusion lasts for one minute, unless you dismiss it as a free action. If you move more than 30 feet away from an interfused object, the effect ends.
Dormant
You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon, and you can interfuse with one object.
When you hit with a ranged attack using this weapon, your interfused objects launch a magical arrow at your target if it is within 60 feet of them, dealing 1d6 force damage. You can only trigger this effect once per round.
Deep Interfusion. As an action, you can interfuse with an object you can see within 60 feet and concentrate on it for 10 minutes. You can see and hear through this object with your own senses. During this time you are unable to use those senses with your body.
Awakened
You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon, and you can interfuse with two objects.
You can make your ranged attacks through interfused objects using your attack and damage bonuses. Attacking through an object deals force damage. The object making the attack does not deal its additional damage, but other interfused objects do. As long as the object has line of sight on your target, you do not need to be able to see it.
Exalted
You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon, and you can interfuse with three objects.
Traversal. You can use a bonus action to teleport to an interfused object, appearing in an empty space next to it. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining expended uses after a long rest.
Open Mind. While interfused with an object you can use an action to send out a pulse of energy from it. Every creature within 60 feet of the object must make a DC 18 Charisma saving throw, or you learn its location. The creatures do not sense this effect. This property can't be used again until you finish a long rest.
Join us in Discord or on Twitch every Mon\Wed\Fri to create new D&D Homebrews like magic items, monsters, or subclasses. If you want to support Cloaks & Capes check out our Patreon for 629+ magic items, monsters, tokens, maps, and more for just $3\month.
We add over 30 new items a month.

Grumpy - Part 1/2
Joel Miller x Reader
2514 words
Warnings: Jackson era!Joel, mutual pining, infected attack (reader gets scraped up but mostly unharmed), gun use, implied character (animal) death (spoiler alert, its me), vague references to reader’s past trauma, alcohol consumption
A/N: I’ve just really wanted to try writing my hand at writing Joel. I want to do another part eventually, but I’m trying to stop hoarding things because they aren’t finished, so please be patient ❤
"Would you leave that thing alone?" Joel gave a long suffering sigh as you knelt and held out a friendly hand to the grizzled-looking tabby cat.
"He's not a thing." You shot Joel a glare in return before returning your attention to the skittish feline sniffing your fingers. It had taken months of leaving food and wearing gloves to get this close without a scratch, but now the cat shoved its weight against your hand, the deep rumble of purring starting up like an old engine. "No one else minds when I stop. It's just for a minute."
"One more minute we don't need to be outside." He was such a stubborn bastard.
With another withering look at Joel, you stopped scratching and dug in your bag for the food you'd brought, setting it out and giving him a quick head pat as you stood, "Sorry sweet boy, I have to go. Take care of yourself, okay?"
The walk back to town was quiet until you felt like you had to defend yourself, "I just like knowing he has something to eat."
"Other animals could smell what you're bringing him-"
"Would you stop it?" It was more of a plea than anything. "I-" You swallowed the surprising lump in your throat; it was harder to talk about these things with Joel. "I know it's silly, when everyone has lost so much, but I miss my cat. And everyone deserves to have someone look after them."
Joel surprised you with a dry chuckle, making your heart flip, "Some of us are more the looking after type, darlin'."
You lowered your gaze to your feet in the snow, pretending to focus on your footing instead of answering. You knew that. That was why Joel always got you flustered. Hell, it felt like half the town must have figured out how you felt about him based on how often you tripped over your words after getting caught stealing glances.
The rest of the walk back was spent in silence, as it often was with Joel. He left you at your door next to his own after asking if you'd be working the bar later that night. You were, and you promised to see him later before you disappeared inside.
***
Shifts at the bar tended to pass quickly- a hell of a lot faster than patrol anyway. There was always work to be done around the settlement during the day, but unless you were on guard duty, most nights were spent at the Clay Pit drinking the homebrew Tommy and the other guys were so proud of. You'd still kill for a wine cooler, but it was better not to think about it too much.
By the time you realized Joel hadn't come in, it was almost ten. Tommy had come in an hour or so ago. You knew Joel would be annoyed if he knew you were worrying about him- he always raised a fuss if you tried to look after him. But still, you hoped he was okay.
It was half past eleven when Joel finally climbed onto his usual stool and tipped his chin in a greeting. You couldn't help the smile that brightened your expression when you saw him. His mouth turned up at the corner in what you always assumed was Joel’s version of a polite smile.
You set his drink in front of him, "Late night?"
He grunted something that might have been a halfhearted laugh, "Game night with Ellie."
"Boggle again?" Ellie loved to brag about beating Joel.
"Nah, I'm teaching her poker."
"Got tired of losing, huh?"
"If I had it wouldn't matter. She's already shaping up to be a mean card player."
You smiled again, "She's a smart girl."
"That she is."
You bustled off to bus tables, leaving Joel to nurse his drink. You'd heard people- other women who thought he was handsome mostly, complain about how short Joel seemed, but you never minded. You weren't much for small talk either, although you were happier than Joel to oblige when someone wanted to chat.
You did always wonder what he was thinking. It was no surprise Ellie could read his stony expressions, since she knew him better than anyone, except maybe Tommy. But to you, Joel was like a brick wall.
You had thought he’d been flirting with you once- one of the bar patrons had stood up unexpectedly as you were walking by and you’d nearly gone down on your ass, if not for Joel’s palm on the small of your back. It was the soft grumble of, “Careful darlin’, fall in my lap and I might not let you go,” only loud enough for you to hear, that had your breath catching and a tidal wave of flustered apologies tumbling from your mouth.
But as quickly as it happened, it was over. When you’d offered to make dinner for him and Ellie as thanks- the closest you’d come to asking him out on a real date- he’d waved it away. And you’d decided then that trying to decipher Joel’s feelings for you would only end up leaving you disappointed. You wanted to think he was interested and you would likely find any evidence you could to support it. But more likely than anything, the man just wanted some peace with his kid.
*
Deciding that Joel deserved his peace was one thing, but getting your silly crush to go away, that was another. And it seemed like as time went on, you were assigned more and more patrols with Joel until you were going out together at least once a week. But Joel hadn’t complained again about stopping to visit your feline friend.
“Why do you call him that?” Joel’s voice surprised you; usually he leaned broodily against a tree, silent while you visited.
You looked over your shoulder at Joel, the cat still brushing against your shins, “Sweet boy?” Joel nodded, his gaze still on the trees, ever diligent in keeping watch. “Because he is.”
That pulled a dry chuckle from him, the sound startling the cat, “Didn’t you damn-near need stitches the first time you got near him?”
“He was scared,” you defended. “But now that he knows I’m safe, he’s a total love bug.” You shot him a teasing smile, “Kind of like you with Ellie.” You knew no one at the compound would believe it if you told them, but Joel’s cheeks seemed to darken, even beneath the several days-old scruff on his cheeks.
You didn’t call attention to it, digging in your bag for the food you’d brought. Once he was happily eating, you gave him a pat and said your goodbyes, prompting Joel to speak again as you started the rest of the walk home, his voice low, “You don’t wanna give him a real name, do you?”
You thought about lying; it was even harder to be vulnerable when Joel was asking for it- it threw you off guard. “Not particularly. Makes it harder if something does happen to him.”
“Why don’t you bring him in if you worry so much?”
You didn’t bother to suppress a soft sigh, you’d gone in circles about it, “I don’t know how he would do. If he would stay. How he would be around so many people. I don’t want him to be unhappy.”
Joel let it be after that, waiting silently each time you stopped after that. Until the day you stopped and made the chirping sound like usual and your friend didn’t come trotting out from the trees. Heart stuttering, you rolled your tongue again, a bit louder, but there was no sign of him.
"Sweet boy?" You stepped a bit deeper into the woods and clicked your tongue again, waiting. Your heart was beating in your ears, breath getting stuck in your throat.
You were waiting for a comment from Joel- an "I told you so," or an empty reassurance, but neither came.
You tried to call out again, but your voice broke. You squeezed your eyes shut to stifle the tears trying to well up.
"Darlin'-" You heard the scuff of a boot on dirt and then, "Shit- move!"
Even with your eyes closed, the shadow was still discernible; you stumbled out of the way just in time for a snarl and a swipe at your coat sleeve. There was a sharp bang, then two more in quick succession. You were mid-kick, ready to fight a follow up attack that never came; the zombie crumpled to the ground as you fell backwards, your palms scraping the dirt.
After a beat of silence, you whispered, "Fuck." Then tears spilled over into your cheeks as you stared numbly at the corpse on the ground.
Then Joel was grabbing your arms, his face blocking your view, "Are you alright?" The way he said it made you think it wasn't the first time he'd asked.
"I'm fine." After a beat of deciding whether to accept that, Joel hauled you up by the forearms. You wiped your cheeks with the back of your hand, mindful of the scrapes on your palms; you needed to pull yourself together until you were home. Until Joel wasn't around to see you cry.
But Joel refused to leave you at your door like usual, "Lemme help you get cleaned up."
You didn't have it in you to argue. So you ended up sitting on the closed toilet lid while Joel knelt in front of you, your first aid kit open on the counter. You didn't flinch when he disinfected the scrapes, drawing a raised eyebrow, but no questions.
Once you were bandaged up, he rumbled low, brown eyes boring into yours, "You sure you're alright?" He was still holding your wrist.
You nodded numbly, "Just shaken up." You broke eye contact, "'M sorry."
He tapped his thumb on your chin, urging you to look at him, "What're you sorry for?"
"You were right. I shouldn't have stopped. I probably got him killed. Almost got myself killed, if not for you." Saying it aloud made the tears spring back up.
"None of that was your fault." The way Joel's expression softened would have melted your heart on a normal day. Today it made you feel like an idiot.
"Thanks. But I think I need to be alone for a little bit."
If you didn't know better, you'd think you caught him by surprise. But he recovered quickly, his thumb brushing over your wrist as he stood. You followed him to the door, “Thanks for the help, Joel.”
He nodded, but he hesitated for a moment before he left, his fingers wrapped around the open door. He glanced at you again and practically grunted, “You’re welcome.” Then he stepped through the door and hastened off the patio. You had been kind of rude; you couldn’t blame him for being annoyed. You closed the door quickly; you would feel guilty for your rudeness later, but you needed to be sad in peace.
*
“Surprised you’re working tonight,” Tommy commented when he came into the bar at half past nine.
You glanced at him in the middle of bussing the bar, “Better than sitting home. Joel told you?”
“Had me out practically ‘til dark looking for that cat.” He gave a chuckle to show he held no real contempt for his brother, but your throat felt a bit tight.
Finally you mustered, “That was nice of you both. I wouldn’t have expected you to find anything, but I appreciate it.”
Tommy glanced down at the bar, clearing his throat, “We, uh, actually did find something.” Somehow your heart sank even lower. “No body, but there was some fur- a few different colors not far from where that infected was.”
You nodded, struggling to stay dry-eyed, “Thanks for telling me.” You tipped your chin at the room, “I should do a round.”
Tommy nodded and freed you to check on the other patrons; you made sure to keep yourself busy until you locked the door behind you. You’d been dreading the end of your shift.
Even though it was the same as always, your empty house seemed to magnify the loss inside you. If you said it out loud, it would sound so silly to be so upset over a cat- one that wasn’t even really your pet. But it really felt like the nail in the coffin of loss; your parents, your boyfriend, your sister. You’d bourne it all without a fuss. Survival had taken priority. But Jackson had made you soft- made you feel safe. Now this one little thing without even a proper name felt like the straw to break the camel’s back.
You took your blanket out to the swing on your front porch- Joel had helped you fix it- and wrapped yourself up. You huddled up to block your cheeks against the chilly air, but it was worth it for the view of the stars. The chilly night air in your lungs and the bright sparkle of the sky with tonight’s clear sky helped to clear your head.
“What are you doing out here so late?” Joel’s voice broke you from your stupor. You must have visibly jumped because he quickly added, his voice a bit softer, “Sorry darlin’, didn’t mean to spook ya.” He walked halfway up your front sidewalk and paused.
“That’s okay, I should probably go inside anyway.”
You didn’t make any move to get up and Joel came closer, leaning against the rail post, “You’ll get sick sittin’ out here dressed like that.”
“The cold doesn’t actually make you sick, you know.” You surprised both of you by sounding more like your normal self.
“You sound like Ellie.”
“Like I said before, she’s a smart girl.”
That pulled a curl from the corner of his mouth that looked suspiciously like a smile in the dim light. He wasn’t going to let you joke your way out of the conversation though. “You alright? Actually?”
You nodded, “I’m okay. Just needed some air.” There was a pause, then you added, “I appreciate that you went out to look for him. You didn’t have to do that.”
“I’m still hopin’ he’ll turn up.”
You glanced away, “It’s okay. Tommy told me about what you found.”
“That jackass. I asked him to wait until I was sure.”
“I’m sure enough,” you said. “It’s too dangerous to be out there looking for him.” You offered a sad smile, “You don’t have to take care of me because you feel bad. I’m alright.”
Giving a sardonic chuckle, Joel raised an eyebrow, “I don’t look after anyone because I feel bad for them.”
“And yet, you’re here, making sure I go inside and get warm before you go home.”
He shook his head, “And you’re still here, probably freezing.” He tromped up onto the porch and offered you a hand up. You reluctantly accepted and let him steer you to the front door. He tugged the blanket up more tightly around your shoulders, “Get some sleep, alright?”
You nodded, “Good night, Joel.”

i am going to finally start posting what I’ve been working on!!!
my girlfriend and I have been world-building together for a homebrew pathfinder campaign that she started running for us and some friends- this is a character i’ve had for 3 years now, but only really started developing her story and whirling her around in my brain at mach speeds in the last couple months or so
i’ll put some lore and a couple other sketches under the cut. i’m also going to try and set up a queue for the other art and sketches i’ve made for the campaign so far, so watch out for that!
--------------------------------------------------------
Have you heard of a whale fall?
Imagine being a creature living on the bottom of the ocean floor- life is hard. It's cold, it's dark, food is scarce. Suddenly, a giant, incomprehensible being floats down from the heavens. You and hundreds, maybe thousands of organisms clamor to the remains of the beast, a sudden beacon of prosperity in this wasteland, desperate to get even a scrap of its of life-giving nutrients. Every creature that partakes will have a piece of that being inside of them forever- fueling them, giving them life, becoming a part of them. Do you think these creatures would worship such a being? Would they consider it a god? Salvation? In the world of Omna, remnants of old gods past have fallen down from the divine realm and settled in the mortal plane. Their remains are what have created the landscapes of this world (mountain ranges, valleys, islands, etc). Mortals who live and dwell upon the remains find themselves changed slowly throughout the generations- changed by the faint fragments of the gods lingering power. --------------------------------------------------------
ok. now for my character Name: Felise Pfeiffer (Fell) Age: 19 Class: Cosmos Oracle Background: Scholar (Arcane) Felise is a cosmos oracle- which means her powers come at the cost of a curse that slowly takes over her body. Instead of something like stars, I wanted her curse to appear as this sort of.... corrupted, glitchy, chaos-y aura. It's very closely tied to her emotions, so when she gets really worked up, the static progressively expands around her. After she was "cursed", if she let her emotions get away from her, she risked hurting herself or other students at her academy. In order to avoid becoming a threat to the other students and faculty, and ultimately getting kicked out of school, she devised a number of strategies to help keep her emotions in check. (mechanically this is her settle emotions/refocus action. I'd like to think she uses the time to focus on slowing down her breathing. She uses her dancing lights cantrip to help- i imagine her spinning the lights around in her hands meditatively, kind of like baoding balls if you know what those are) (also yes, her curse magic manifesting is the equivalent of a panic attack) She's covered up a lot of her body to try and hide as much of it as possible, but her hair is always a dead giveaway. She leaves her fingers exposed since it's easier to channel magic through exposed skin (gloves, unless made of a special magic-conducting material, tend to dampen spells just a bit) - but this means others can see her fingers start to shift into static as she uses her cursed magic. I had a lot of really intense anxiety in junior high/high school/college, so she's become a really neat vessel for me to conceptualize and process those experiences and emotions. But, like, instead of having undiagnozed ADHD and RSD she gets like. cool magical girl powers BIO: Felise was the sole child of local inventor and archeologist, Atticus Pfeiffer. Her father's lifelong devotion was to study and uncover the mysteries of the ancient winged people known as the Featherfolk, who had seemingly vanished some 1000 years before. She grew up in a cottage built on the coast of a mysterious bird-shaped lake, where she and her father would excavate broken murals, walls of hieroglyphs, and other artifacts that hinted at the lives of this forgotten feathered-society. Until just under 10 years ago- when her father mysteriously vanished. From then on, reports of strange attacks began sprouting up all over Aton and other neighboring regions. Attacks fronted by giant, chimera-like bird monsters that would descend from the sky to snatch up unsuspecting victims- carrying them away to some unknown in the sky. Felise did her best to pick up the pieces of her father's research- hoping to find the cause behind the sudden appearance of these monstrous aberrations, the reason for their attacks, and maybe, just maybe, where her father disappeared to all those years ago.
-------------------------------------------------------- you did it!! i give you tasty treat for reading my lore dump! even if you didnt thats ok, you must have at least clicked the read more and scrolled down. you can still have a little treat
an unfinished reference sheet for her dad, atticus
these are my girlfriend @im-ashl sketches - Skraaw, The Carrion King - the BBEG of the campaign, an Evil Bird who is Awful
and finally some sketches of- whos this? the featherfolk princess??
#im still. figuring out how to draw people#so my style isn't really consistent yet if u cant already tell#but it's been a lot of fun and i've been drawing more than ever#so i hope you like it!!#pathfinder#pathfinder 2e#ttrpg art#cosmos oracle#felise pfeiffer#me art

Hi ! I was wondering something about your 216-position D&D module : would having a negative CON modifier invert the HP restoration mechanic, and "reward" the player for a very mobile style ?
Combining a lot of running around with aggressive postures (maybe going so far as to taunt ?), with the main tradeoff being low maximum health and dying slowly when cornered/without momentum ? That’d make an interesting berserker but gaining health every 5-feet is a problem for long distances (unless you specify it’s 5 feet towards the enemy)
This was designed for a table where the magic items say things like “pick one of your abilities and increase every number in its text by 1,” not for 5e games with delusions of balance or reason. My DM allows just about anything, and just makes the encounters nightmarishly hard proportional to the shit we pull
Frankly this thing isn’t a “class” or a mechanic aimed at public release. It’s designed to be used with a single character and is so colossally broken as to likely be unnecessarily spotlight-hogging in a campaign full of broken homebrew characters. It’s complicated enough that I can’t really map out what “optimal play” looks like but I feel safe to say it can easily do 200+ damage in a single turn from level 1 onwards.
Making it any better or minmaxing the mechanic is not a concern of mine, the same way making it balanced isn’t really a concern of mine. One of the other Posture benefits does in fact heal you, so with the right stance setup you could heal 2x proficiency bonus every 5 feet you move even with a positive CON modifier. Which is crazy, sure, but literally who gives a shit
Odds are this thing never actually sees play, because to do so my current character would need to die, and her custom mechanics make her perhaps the single tankiest motherfucker to ever grace a 5e table. This thing is a sword of damocles hanging over my DMs head saying “kill her. i dare you” and the funny part is that i’m not sure if he can without killing everyone else first
